Many nights and weekends when not babysitting Stan went with his Mother to assist other Mom’s whose Husbands were deployed in order to help them with their newborns and siblings. After his Father retired, Stan spent many nights and weekends with his Father and various veteran organizations like the VFW, American Legion and DAV visiting the VA Hospitals, military hospitals and rehabilitation centers assisting returning Vietnam Vets and their families.

Darline B. Riggs was elected to the Miramar City Commission, Seat 4 on March 10, 2015. Darline B. Riggs was given up by her birth mother at 2 months old and adopted into a family of ten. At the age of 9, her family settled in Miramar where she has resided for the last twenty-five years. A graduate of Miramar High, she went on to obtain her Associate of Science degree in nursing from Broward College, her Bachelor of Science in nursing and her Master of Science in nursing education from Florida Atlantic University.
