Mauricio Cadena
Producer/Director, Canal 8 Miami
Mauricio Cadena was born in Colombia. He started his career in advertising in Bogota, working in diverse advertising industries. He also served as professor of Marketing and Product Distribution of different universities.
In 2002, he moved to Miami and started a new life adopting jobs such as valet parking, cleaning dishes, fixing lights and many more. In 2006, he got his first job in marketing in a real state agency.
In 2007, he started working for Telemundo as production assistant for two soap operas and in the same year, he moved to San Antonio Texas to work as a Floor Manager of a production company. In 2008, he was named producer and started creating content for different Mexican brands, including Maseca, which is the world largest tortilla distributor.
In 2013, he moved to Mexico to produce two soap operas; one for Caracol Television, La Ruta Blanca, and the other for Warner Latin Gossip Girl Acapulco (Adaptation from the English version). In 2015, Mauricio moved to Los Angeles to study Filmmaking and he started to work in a Hispanic National TV Channel, focused on game shows, and then he started producing the National Newscast of Los Angeles.
Subsequently, Mauricio produced and directs his first short film The Hit, which is officially selected for the UCLA Film Festival. In 2018, Mauricio moved back to Miami, and started producing the newscast of Canal 8. Additional international productions include, South Africa: World Cup, content production and direction for brands such as Corona and Seleccion Mexicana de Futbol. Morocco: content production for Mexican brands in the Moroccan Art Festival. Russia: Concerts and content production for brand such as Mexico Pais and Tecate.
